NASHVILLE — Police in South Nashville are investigating last night’s fatal shooting of two men at the Preakness Apartments, 630 Bell Road, who apparently shot and killed each other during a drug deal gone bad.

According to witnesses, Tyler Bradley, 21, of Smyrna, and Tori Murphy, of Swiss Avenue, agreed to meet in a parking lot at the complex in order to make a drug transaction. During the meeting, Murphy reportedly attempted to rob Bradley and both men were killed in a subsequent exchange of gunfire.

Responding officers found Bradley lying on the ground in the parking lot. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. Murphy was taken by personal vehicle to Southern Hills Medical Center where he died.

Two handguns were recovered from the parking lot. The investigation is continuing.
