Somonauk, ILLINOIS — Police have arrested a juvenile after a threat was made against Somonauk High School.
On Monday November 30th, 2015 at approximately 4:38 PM, Somonauk Police received a report of a threat posted via the Yik Yak smartphone social media application.
Somonauk Police, with the assistance of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office were able to identify a juvenile suspect who was taken into custody a few hours later.
The juvenile suspect has since been released to their parents and will be referred to the State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Police are confident that the the situation is under control and that there is no known immediate threat to the community or school at this time.
