New York State Police are investigating the shooting of a police officer in the Village of Maybrook, NY.
A suspect was barricaded in a residence but was later found dead—it was unknown if it was a self-inflicted wound or if he was shot by police.
State Troopers, State Police investigators and a negotiator responded.
According to WCBS, Maybrook Police Chief Arnold “Butch” Amthor was struck in the shoulder ‘while responding to a domestic disturbance.’ Amthor is expected to survive.
The investigation is ongoing.
