Police in Morocco have dismantled an ISIS terror cell that were actively planning a chemical weapons attack.

Ten suspects were arrested at their safe house.

Among the arrested was a 16-year-old who had been trained to carry out a bombing.

Six containers of sulphur0containing chemical fertilizer were found during the raids.

Other chemicals which can create the tetanus toxin were also recovered.

At least four machine guns, ammunition and thirteen tear gas canisters and an ISIS flag were seized.

Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) Director Abdelhak Khiame said: “They were well equipped to commit a major attack”,

“They wanted to sow psychosis among the population”, he said, adding there may have been, at the lowest estimate, “dozens” of victims.

“The weapons seized are from Libya, which confirms that…the terrorist organization positions itself increasingly in the Maghreb”.

“These people were trained on site in coordination with Daesh, which provided them with the necessary arms.”
