WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Police in New Jersey are now investigating a viral video that shows a teenager punching an older man on the street.
The video was uploaded to Facebook and has been shared on other various social media sites.
A girl can heard reasoning with the teenager ‘Don’t hit him!’ while the cameraman tells the teenager to ‘knock him out’.
The punch is so forceful that it it throws the elderly man ono the pavement and appears to knock him unconscious.
The video seems to have similarities of ‘the knockout game’, which was responsible for multiple deaths in 2013.
The viral trend sees someone suck punch an unsuspecting victim.
The Paterson Police Director said that the department is actively looking into the location of the video, as well as the people involved.
A spokesperson released a statement saying: ‘Once that is determined we will take swift and decisive action as we will not tolerate that kind of behavior in our city.’
The state of the victim in the video is not yet known.
The video has now been taken down from Facebook and other social media sites.
