TUCSON — On November 30, 2015, just before 4:00 p.m., the Tucson Police Department started receiving multiple 911 calls about a male assaulting random people in the Midtown area. Officers from various divisions immediately responded to render aid to the victims and search for the suspect. Forty minutes into the spree, Tucson Police officers located and arrested the male and ended his wrath of violence. Thankfully, the victims all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The male suspect began the spree at a convenience store in the 2600 block of North Columbus Boulevard. The suspect assaulted a store employee using a baseball bat and fled in a vehicle. He then responded to a different business in the 3100 block of North 1st Avenue, assaulted an employee and fled again in the vehicle.
The same suspect approached two men on foot that had been walking their dogs in the 900 block of East Adelaide. The suspect attempted to assault them with the baseball bat but was unsuccessful. The suspect got back in his vehicle and began chasing the two men. The men were able to find safety in a nearby residence and the suspect left the area.
The suspect was traveling at a high rate of speed in the 2800 block of North Park Avenue approaching a couple pushing their stalled vehicle in the roadway. The male pushing the vehicle was able to get out of the way but the female was in the vehicle when the suspect struck the vehicle. The suspect then assaulted both the male and female with the baseball bat, attempted to take personal belongings and again fled in the vehicle.
The suspect then located a male standing in front of a residence in the 200 block of East Prince Road and threatened him. He left the area in the vehicle.
The multiple victims and witnesses were able to give descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle. Officers located a matching vehicle in the 3500 block of North Fontana Avenue.
