Police: Man uses knife, beer stein to murder woman in Nashville apartment

COLUMBUS -- Police at Ohio State University are investigating a 'self-inflicted shooting' that happened at the Wexner Arts Center for Arts Sunday.

TENNESSEE — (News release / MNPD) — Hermitage Precinct detectives today charged Toby N. Tassmer with criminal homicide for the stabbing/beating death of a female friend inside her apartment at 1000 Thompson Place.

Tassmer, 53, is accused of using a knife and a beer stein to murder Robin E. Bell, 58.

Officers responded to the apartment at 4:35 a.m. after Tassmer called 911. Bell was discovered deceased on the floor.

Tassmer was detained and interviewed by Detective Daniel Motte, during which he admitted to killing Bell.

Neighbors reported that they heard the two arguing earlier in the morning.

Tassmer is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.
