Police In North Carolina Investigate Triple Homicide

Kinston, North Carolina — On Sunday, around 1:15 a.m., the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office responded to 308 W. Queen Street in LaGrange, NC for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies found a shooting had occurred and numerous victims were at the scene.

The incident occurred in an outbuilding located on the property.

Deputies secured the scene to allow for medical treatment of the victims by Lenoir County EMS personnel. Deputies found four gunshot victims at the residence. Three of the gunshot victims were pronounced dead at the scene and one was treated by EMS and transported for further treatment.

Lenoir County Detectives and Crime Scene personnel are currently working the scene to locate evidence, conduct interviews and develop leads in the investigation.

According to kinston.com, the incident is ‘believed to be the result of a botched robbery attempt during a card game.’

“We are still working to find out if a struggle occurred or if the robbers just came in shooting,” said Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram. “We do know for sure that Pridgen was one of the suspects at the scene along with some others and their intention was robbing someone. He was armed with a gun, had something covering his face and demanded money from the victims.”

Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram states, “our prayers go out to the victims’ families for their loss. We are in the beginning stages of this investigation. Our detectives are working to piece together information gathered at the scene.”
