Police Seek Woman, 1-Year-Old Son Following Foot Chase

CALIFORNIA -- On Thursday November 19th, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a case worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), responded to the 12800 Block of Foxley Drive in the City of Whittier to serve a removal order of a 1-year-old child from the location.

CALIFORNIA — On Thursday November 19th, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a case worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), responded to the 12800 Block of Foxley Drive in the City of Whittier to serve a removal order of a 1-year-old child from the location.

During the contact, the mother fled the location on foot with the child.

Whittier Police Officers responded to the area and conducted a search for the mother and the child. In addition, Detectives were called in, along with a blood hound to assist in the search. The search took several hours, however the mother and the child were not located.

The suspect in this case is 26-year-old Martha Martinez. She is 5′-4″, 120 lbs. and was last seen wearing a tank top, blue jeans and yellow boots. The missing child is described as 1-year-old Nathan Martinez and was last seen wearing tan pajamas.
