Police have seized 20,000 ISIS military uniforms that were hidden inside aid packages  at a Spanish port.

The interior ministry has confirmed that around 20,000 military uniforms and accessories have been seized, bound for areas controlled by ISIS and AL-Nusra Front.

‘The containers which carried the military uniforms were declared as second-hand clothes so as to not raise suspicions and be able to pass different customs inspections without any difficulty,’ a statement read.

“Two of the three containers were intercepted at a port in Valencia and one at Algeciras in an anti-terror operation conducted on February 7. The containers were being shipped to areas controlled by IS and Al-Nusra Front in Iraq and Syria.”

Spanish police did not confirm the intended final location for the shipment.

Inspectors at the ports of Valencia and Algeciras discovered other military gear which they believe the senders were planning to send to ISIS and other affiliates.

Spanish security did not confirm the intended final location for the cargo but it is thought the bust may have been linked to the arrest of seven smugglers in Spain last month.

According to Europol, “Europe is currently facing the highest terror threat in more than in a decade.”
