WASHINGTON — District of Columbia police say they are investigating the use of force by officers who were captured on video apparently beating a man who was on the ground and handcuffed.

Police say the suspect attacked them with a car antenna.

WUSA Reports: Police say the video, which was taken Monday evening in the 5100 block of Cloud Place NE, shows officers attempting to subdue Eric Jones after he came after them.

According to charging documents, police arrived at the scene to find Jones standing next to a car talking to himself, doing pushups and taking off his shoes

After being ordered to back away from the vehicle and get on the ground, Jones, 43, rips the antenna off the vehicle and comes at the officers, the documents say.

Jones also bit the knee of one of the officers, according to DC police.

WUSA says three officers were injured, citing sources.
