Rio Grande Border Patrol agents rescue seven in two days

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents rescue seven subjects abandoned by ruthless smugglers.

On Monday, agents assigned to the McAllen Station received information from the Mexican Government about a distressed 911 caller who had been deserted in the brush along with four other subjects. The caller was only able to provide a description of physical landmarks around the group and ended communication. Using the information provided by the caller, agents responded and were able to rescue all five subjects. All subjects were provided basic medical care.

On Tuesday, the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office alerted Falfurrias agents of a 911 caller claiming to be lost in the brush. Agents responded to the last known geographic coordinates and rescued two subjects that had been left behind by their smuggler. Both subjects were provided basic medical care.
