After School Incident Results in Adult Charges Against HS Student

BALTIMORE — An 11th grader at Kenwood High School has been charged as an adult with assault after an incident on September 23.

The investigation has indicated that the suspect is an 11th grade student and the victim is a 10th grade student, both from Kenwood High School. Both the suspect and victim ride the same school bus.

On September 23 at 3:46 p.m., the bus dropped both of them off at Elm Drive and Wilson Point Road 21220. The victim approached the suspect to confront him about a previous incident.

The suspect then produced a handgun from his backpack and pointed it at the victim. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect has been identified as 16-year-old Shane Kaleipaihala Pule Jr of the Unit block of Dogwood Road 21220. He has been charged as an adult with first-degree assault and related charges. He was released on $100,000 bail.

The .45 caliber handgun that Pule pointed at the victim was recovered by investigators.
