Search For Survivors Of Midair Crash Near Los Angeles Harbor Suspended

Authorities have suspended their a search for survivors of a midair collision near Los Angeles port.

The Coast Guard announced on Saturday that the search for three missing people has been suspended.

Searches in the area were conducted from 3:30p.m. on Friday until 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.

The midair collision took place near the port of Los Angeles at around 3:30p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Officials have not yet commented on what may have caused the accident.

It is believed that men aged 61 and 81 were aboard the plane.

Coast Guard Captain Jennifer Williams confirmed that a wreckage and a pilot’s logbook were found from the plane.

The other plane was being flown by a 72-year-old woman, officials confirmed.

The chief flight instructor with the Long Beach Flying club said that pilots practice in a 10 to 20 square mile area.

The nearest harbor entrance was closed to traffic while the search continued.

The forecast on Friday was clear and sunny in the local area.

It is reported that Friday’s collision was not the first in the local area.
