At least three people have sustained injuries after a man drove a car into pedestrians in the German city of Heidelberg.
A police spokesperson confirmed that one of the three people hit on Saturday afternoon sustained serious injuries.
The suspect fled and was swiftly found by a police patrol, he was then shot by an officer following a brief standoff.
He was then transported to a local hospital.
