LONDON — (Scroll down for video) — City of London Police have released CCTV footage from Tower Bridge showing a victim being viciously attacked by a group of 10 to 12 young men.

On Sunday 31 May at approximately 22.00, a 29 year old man was walking along Tower Bridge from the south side after returning from a friend’s wedding. He was approached by a group of men walking from the opposite direction.

As the group walked past one of them punched the victim in the back of the head. As he fell to the ground, the other men joined in and forcibly kicked him in the head several times. The sustained attack lasted approximately one minute with the victim suffering cuts and bruises.

The men are described as being in their mid/late teens to early 20’s and from an Asian background. They spoke with local East London accents and were dressed in hooded tops, jackets and tracksuit bottoms. Two of the men were also riding on TFL hired bikes.

Police Constable Oliver Gent from the City of London police said, “A group of young men carried out a vicious, cowardly and unprovoked attack on a lone male minding his own business.

“The victim suffered several blows to the head and body and was lucky to walk away with only cuts and bruises.

“It is paramount that we catch those responsible as the group’s next victim might end up with very serious injuries. If you were on Tower Bridge during the time of the attack or recognise any of these men from the CCTV footage, please contact us.”
