OMAHA, NEBRASKA — **UPDATE: Active Shooter in custody. No one injured** — Police in Omaha are searching for a gunman who opened fire inside of a business on Wednesday.
‘Active shooter’ was dispatched to Officers in the area. According to local reports, a man with a rifle and/or shotgun entered the Parliament Pub and began firing. Employees and patrons took cover. No one was struck by the gunfire.
The scene is at 16939 Wright St. The gunman is believed to have fled into a nearby apartment complex. A SWAT team and negotiator were called in.
Schools in the area were placed on lockdown. Omaha Police Dept. spokeswoman Bridget Fitzpatrick Tweeted, “Active shooter in area of 159th & Wright. Please avoid the area!”
The suspect is described as a white male, 5 ft. tall with greasy hair and wearing a dark blue shirt.
