Authorities said six people are dead after a commuter bus and a school bus collided in southwest Baltimore.

Few details were immediately available. Authorities had said at least three people were killed but noted that it was a “fluid situation.” Around 8:30 a.m., police said in a Twitter message that the number of fatalities now stands at six people. There were no names released as to who had died.

Police also said there were no children on the school bus at the time of the crash.

Pictures from the scene showed two mangled buses and debris in the roadway. Officials said they expect to give a briefing soon on the incident.

The crash happened near Mount St. Joseph High School.
