Spanish police have arrested seven people on suspicion of supplying bomb making equipment, weapons and money to ISIS.

Six men have been arrested during early raids in Valencia today and a seventh was latter arrested in the afternoon.

Interior minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz said that they are believed to be part of a Jihadi group that sent weapons in containers, disguised as humanitarian aid supplies.

Police officials described the seized material, which also included electronics and cash, as essential to the sustainment of the terrorist groups.

Four of the men being held are of Syrian, Jordanian and Moroccan origin.

A spokesperson for Spain’s foreign ministry said: ‘The head of the cell directed a network of firms which enabled him to send the logistical material in sealed containers from Spanish ports to the terrorist groups operating in Syria and Iraq without raising suspicion.

‘These regular supplies directly benefited the continuity and strengthening of terrorist structures in Syria and Iraq.’
