Kharbika, OMAN — (Warning: Photos may be disturbing to some readers) — Authorities are investigating after photos of a stray dog carrying a newborn baby circulated on social media across the Middle East.
The incredible photos have been posted on several websites.
There are conflicting accounts of what actually happened but all stories seem to say the baby, that still had it’s umbilical cord attached, survived.
According to reports, a man was riding his bicycle near a hospital last Saturday when he came across the stray dog carrying the baby in it’s mouth.
The man approached the dog, and the dog willingly gave up the human as if it was trying to save the newborn boy.
Another report says the dog went to a home and laid the baby on the doorstep and barked until the homeowner answered.
The child was reportedly taken to an emergency room and miraculously survived.
Investigators in the country are searching for the mother or any information about the child.
From Ur/dogs.com: “… witnesses in the hospitals have told the police that a girl came earlier to the emergency room but refused to let the doctor check her if he was going to record it, and she fled the hospital. The police fear that this girl might be the mother of the child, and that she gave birth to the child and threw him somewhere where people couldn’t find him, but this dog did, and somehow he knew where to head to save this baby!”
Little is known about the dog, the forgotten child and these miraculous photos… None of which are confirmed.
