The Los Angeles Unified School District closed all campus’ due to an email threat Tuesday.

According to the LA Times, a male student, 17, was struck and killed while crossing the street following the closures.

From the LA Times: “The boy was crossing the street at Avenue 60 and Figueroa Street at about 7:30 a.m. when service truck struck him, according to Officer Jane Kim of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver told police he did not see the boy, police said. The driver immediately stopped and helped the boy”

The email threat was received by a school board member and the last IP address was traced back to Frankfurt, Germany, LAUSD has confirmed.

A house representative spoke on CNN on how the email contained Arabic language, pornographic images, nerve agents and 32 accomplices.
