Suspect Sexually Assaulted 85-Year Old Woman, Brutally Beat Her, Deputies Say

Columbia, South Carolina — Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Marquille Rondale Livingston, 36, charged with burglary 1st, criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, and petit larceny.

Following up on significant leads, Livingston was arrested on Saturday, February 17, 2018 (on his birthday) by the The Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force and the Special Victim’s Unit without incident.

The Sheriff stated that during the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 14, 2018 on Brighton Hill Road, Livingston gained entry into the 85-year old female victim’s home. Livingston attacked the victim with his fists and then brutally assaulted her sexually repeatedly. The victim attempted to use her Life Alert bracelet for help, but when the agent made contact, Livingston took over the conversation and told them everything was fine; prior to leaving the residence Livingston stole cash and the victim’s watch.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department Crime Lab collected DNA evidence at the scene, this was instrumental in leading to the identification of Livingston; he has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
