Sweden will deport 80,000 migrants who arrived in the country last year and also had their asylum application denied.

Anders Ygemen, the country’s Interior Minister, said that the Swedish government had asked the police and other agencies to organize and enforce their removal.

The measure was revealed as Europe continues to struggle with the migrant influx.

According to figures, 55% of asylum seekers in Sweden have their application approved, 45% have them rejected.

The UN has revealed that over 46,000 migrants have crossed into Greece in 2016 alone.

Sweden is one of the European Union countries that has taken in the largest amount of migrants.

Figures have revealed the Sweden accepted more than 160,000 asylum seekers in 2015.

This comes as officials in Sweden have called for stricter security as asylum centers after an employee at a refugee center was stabbed to death.

The death of the employee has sparked vast outrage and calls for the country to do more to stop migrants entering.

Measures include confiscating migrants’ valuables in order to finance their upkeep while they seek asylum, and making it harder to bring family members to Denmark once they have a right to remain.
