TENNESSEE — 19-year-old Robert Seth Denton was dressed in camo and was armed with a rifle when he shot and killed his mother, step-father and grandmother while six children were present.

On Saturday, around 5:45PM the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at 618 Henson Road in Bristol.

Upon arrival officers found Lena Rose and Toshya Millhorn inside the home with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person, James Millhorn, was located near the front door with gunshot wounds.  He was airlifted to the Johnson City Medical Center where he later died.

Officers immediately secured the scene and made contact with Curtis Rose who told them his grandson, Robert Seth Denton, was responsible for the shootings.

Mr. Rose said that he was doing some work adjacent to his home when he was approached by his grandson who told him he needed to call 911. At that point Mr. Rose went inside his home and found the victims.

Upon discovering the victims Mr. Rose called 911 and then placed the children in another room. He told detectives that he then grabbed a pistol and ran out of the home to look for his grandson. He found him in a vehicle at the end of the driveway, leaving the property.

Mr. Rose states he fired a shot at Mr. Denton, striking him in the arm.

The suspect drove to the 800 block of Henson Road where he was later located by officers. Mr. Denton was transported to the Bristol Regional Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Upon being released he was transported to the Sullivan County Correctional Facility.

In addition to the three adults, six children were also in the home at the time of the shooting.

Five of those children resided in the home. The sixth child was just visiting.

The child who was injured was a 7-year old female. Her injuries are non-life threatening.

The bodies of the victims have been sent for an autopsy.
