Three Americans Kidnapped In Baghdad: Report

AKRON, Ohio - A plane crashed into an apartment building in Akron on Tuesday, police said.

IRAQ — Three Americans have reportedly been kidnapped in Baghdad. According to Arab news channel Al-Arabiya, two soldiers/contractors and a translator were captured by militants on the south side of city.

The identities of the reported victims was not immediately known. The U.S. State Department says they are aware of the report and are working with Iraqi authorities to locate & recover the missing people.

“We are aware of reports that American citizens are missing in Iraq,” a State Department official told NBC News. “We are working with the full cooperation of the Iraqi authorities to locate and recover the individuals. The safety and security of American citizens overseas is our highest priority.”

The three American contractors went missing 2 days ago, a senior security official in Baghdad told CNN.
