UTAH — An Air France flight bound for Paris made an emergency landing in Salt Lake City Tuesday evening after taking off from LA.
Another flight, Air France flight 55, from Washington, D.C. bound for Paris was also reportedly threatened and landed in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Airbus 380 from LA declared an emergency after receiving a telephonic bomb threat.
According to local reports, FBI, airport police, along with several other agencies surrounded Air France flight 65 in Salt Lake.
The aircraft was carrying 497 passengers and landed around 7:30 local time.
Air France said it requested the planes land as a precaution, and that “local authorities are carrying out complete inspections of the aircraft, the passengers and their luggage.”
Officials do not know who made the call for the bomb threat or where it came from.
Passengers were being evacuated.
