DETROIT – Police are looking for man who opened fire on a group of teenagers on the east side of the city Monday night.
The five teenagers were sitting in a parked car smoking marijuana when an unknown man pulled up and opened fire on the vehicle. At least 30 shots were fired.
After the shooting one of the teens was able to drive them to the hospital.
One 16-year-old girl, Paige Stalker has died from a gunshot one to the head.
Paige was a straight-A student at University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods and was a member of the synchronized swim team.
Paige’s grandfather spoke to 7 Action News about the tragedy. He says Paige volunteered at Grosse Pointe Beaumont Hospital two days a week because she had dreams of becoming a doctor,
The suspect is described as African American, wearing a black hat, Army camouflage and a bullet proof vest.
Police say the victims are talking to police but believe the shooting was random.
