COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are searching for a non-custodial mother who they say kidnapped her 5-year-old daughter Tuesday.

Police said around 5 p.m. Tuesday, 28-year-old Kiri McMillion arrived unannounced at her daughter’s home in the 700-block of East Rio Grande Street. She asked her daughter, 5-year-old Sidney Carlisle, to leave with her. Police said when the child refused, McMillion forcibly picked her up, put her in a car, and left the area.

Detectives have found the car in Yuma, Colorado, which is about 180 miles northeast of Colorado Springs.

Police are still looking for McMillion and her daughter. MicMillion is described as a white woman, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 120 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink flannel shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots. Sidney is described as a white girl, about 3 feet 8 inches tall and 35 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink Snoopy dress.

Police said McMillion may be with a man named Joe Sampson. No description of him was immediately available.

A warrant has been issued for McMillion for second-degree kidnapping and violation of a court order. Police said McMillion is a “known drug user” and has previously abandoned one of her children with non-family members.
