TURKEY — At least two explosions struck the Istanbul Atatürk Airport on Tuesday.
At least 31 are dead and 140+ more were injured, a Turkish official told the Associated Press.
A hail of gunfire was also reported by witnesses.
Turkish officials told Reuters that two suspects detonated explosives before passing through an x-ray security check.
Police fired shots to neutralize the suspects at the international terminal entry point, the official told the news agency.
Istanbul Atatürk Airport is the main international airport serving Istanbul, Turkey and the biggest airport in Turkey by total number of passengers, destinations served and aircraft movements.
