Elizabeth City, North Carolina — On Monday, December 26, 2016 approximately 3:49am, Elizabeth City Police Department received a call from Pasquotank Central Communications of an abduction of a fourteen year old black female in the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue.
The victim is Kaniya McMurrin, black female, Date of Birth 11-16-2002, 14 years of age.
The suspect is identified as being Johnathan Wendell Ward, 1200 block of Daniel Street, Weldon, NC 27890, Black Male, and Date of Birth 04-15-1988.
The suspect drove off with Kaniya in the backseat of his vehicle. The suspect was last seen driving a silver 2004 Chrysler Sebring with NC license plate PDX-2566, vehicle has a right head light out and a dent on the passenger side door.
