Police: ‘Violent Sex Offender’ Escapes Arizona State Hospital, Cuts Off GPS Ankle Monitor

PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a suspect has escaped from Arizona State Hospital, located at 3400 E. Thomas Road.

The missing person is listed as a violent sexual offender and is a court mandated patient of the Arizona State Hospital. The suspect was escorted to lunch as part of a “reintroduction to society” program and he fled.

His GPS ankle bracelet was located at 10th Avenue and Hatcher. The suspect is believed to have been in contact with a former State Hospital employee.
