The Texas State University Police Department has received multiple inquiries regarding menacing posts seen on different social media sites.
A threatening post circulating online was made on the message board site 4chan. “Some of you guys are alright. Don’t go to school tomorrow if you’re near Austin,” the post read.
The Texas State University Police Department and other Law Enforcement partners began working immediately to identify the sources and to establish the context and credibility of the posts.
UT and Texas State police departments asked their respective students to report any suspicious activity.
At this time, the threat is not considered credible and classes are set to go on as usual.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
