Video Shows Moment ISIS Suspect Is Shot After Throwing Rocks at Arizona Police Officer

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — (Scroll Down For Video) — On the afternoon of Monday, January 7, 2019 a caller repeatedly called 911 stating his allegiance to the Islamic State and saying he wanted to talk to an MCSO deputy at the MCSO Fountain Hills Substation located at 16705 E. Ave. of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, Arizona.

At 5:35pm an MCSO Sergeant went outside to the substation parking lot and contacted the subject, later identified as an 18-year old Ismail Hamed from Fountain Hills. The male subject began throwing rocks at Sergeant. The suspect then brandished a knife and advanced towards the Sergeant, despite his repeated commands for him to drop the weapon.

Officials say the officer was targeted by the individual whose intent was to take a life in the pursuit of furthering the ideology of a terrorist group.

The Sergeant discharged his service weapon which incapacitated the suspect.

NEW CONFERENCE:

First aid was rendered on scene and the suspect was transported to the hospital and then booked into jail the next day.

18-year-old Ismail Hamed is being charged as a terrorist who was acting on behalf of ISIS, according to a complaint filed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
