WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) A 30-year-old Washington man is lucky to be alive after falling down three waterfalls.

Josh Richert, aged 30, were celebrating their wedding anniversary with a stroll through National Park on May 20.

He then walked out on some rocks in order to get better access to the flowing water, when he slipped and got caught in the current.

‘I got really scared,’ he told KOMO. ‘I was like, oh boy, because I couldn’t get back. I looked at Katrin and said, “I don’t think I can get back.”

The current swept Richert away and sent him plunging down three waterfalls on the Sul Doc River.

Richert fell over 70 feet in over five minutes, he was then able to swim to shore and await help.

A photographer recorded the fall and uploaded the footage.

‘When I broke the surface, I took a breath and thought I finally made it,’ said Josh Richert.

It took first responders seven hours to pull him to safety.

‘Don’t ever risk something so life threatening over something so small.’
