WATCH: (Scroll Down) A lifeguard on Venice pier has been physically assaulted by three intoxicated people on a Thursday night, the dispute started as the lifeguard asked one of them to put out a cigarette.
The lifeguard came down from his tower after he asked one of them to put out a cigarette, instead of doing so they threw the cigarette butt at him, said LA County Lifeguard spokesman.
As the lifeguard was climbing down from the tower, he was struck to the back of his head by one of the men.
Three people have been arrested in total, two men and one woman. One of the attackers were taken away via stretcher.
