WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Kosovo opposition politicians have fired tear gas inside the country’s parliament building in an attempt to halt legislation.

In dramatic scenes inside parliament, opposition MPs were today blocked from entering the building after launching tear gas into the debating chamber.

It comes just days after the main opposition leader and 86 other protesters were arrested over methods they are alleged to have used over the past few months to try and stop the deals.

Photographs taken today showed MPs squinting and clutching their eyes while they evacuated the building.

The two pieces of legislation revolve around granting more powers to ethnic-Serb communities in Kosovo and border demarcation with Montenegro.

When told the governing majority would hold the session in another hall, he said: ‘There will be confrontation. We shall not allow holding of the assembly sessions.’

In the past three months, the opposition has disrupted parliament with tear gas, pepper spray, whistles and water bottles.

Two of its lawmakers are under arrest and arrest warrants have been issued for two others. Police reported they had arrested an opposition MP today after finding two tear gas canisters with him.
