WikiLeaks has today warned that the CIA planned to hack cars and trucks that can be used to carry out covert assassination.

“As of October 2014 the CIA was also looking at infecting the vehicle control systems used by modern cars and trucks,” WikiLeaks said in a statement.

“The purpose of such control is not specified, but it would permit the CIA to engage in nearly undetectable assassinations.”

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has also voiced his opinion on the issue, tweeting, “Still working through the publication, but what @Wikileaks has here is genuinely a big deal. Looks authentic.”

WikiLeaks has a 100% track record for publishing authentic documents.

The FBI put out a public service announcement in March of 2016 to warn that cars are “increasingly vulnerable” to “remote exploits.” The notice offered information and tips to drivers on how they can better protect themselves.

‘Vulnerabilities may exist within a vehicle’s wireless communication functions, within a mobile device – such as a cellular phone or tablet connected to the vehicle via USB, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi – or within a third-party device connected through a vehicle diagnostic port. In these cases, it may be possible for an attacker to remotely exploit these vulnerabilities and gain access to the vehicle’s controller network or to data stored on the vehicle.’
