WASHINGTON – A woman was arrested early Sunday after scaling a fence near the White House – the third time she has been taken into custody near the presidential residence in less than a week, the Secret Service said.

Marci Wahl, 38, of Everett, Washington, tripped an alarm at approximately 2:15 a.m., after scaling the fence at the southeast corner of the Treasury Building adjacent to 15th Street Northwest and near the White House, the Secret Service said.

Officers responded and took Wahl into custody. She had a backpack with her that was checked by an explosives team and found to be holding nothing dangerous, the Secret Service said.

She was charged with unlawful entry and contempt of court.

Wahl was first arrested March 21, after she was found dangling from the White House fence by her shoelaces. She told officers she was at the White House to speak with President Donald Trump.

After the incident, Wahl was given a stay-away order, but she was spotted near the White House again in the area of Lafayette Square on March 24, the Secret Service said. Wahl was again taken into custody and charged with violating the stay away order.
