Woman Holds Hotel Maid Hostage At Knifepoint After Being Stood Up On Date

A Chinese woman was left so angry after her boyfriend failed to show up to a date that she vented her anger by holding her hotel maid hostage at knifepoint.

The suspect, only known by her surname of Feng, was captured by a SWAT team after a 90 minute stand-off in the city of Zhenzhou, central China.

The hostage was eventually rescued and fortunately suffered no injuries.

Incident took place on the morning of October 3.

Ms Feng, 22, booked a room on the seventh-floor of Shanshui Hotel to wait for her boyfriend, who had agreed to meet her.

The angered woman called room service and asked staff to send toiletries.

When a hotel maid, only known by her surname of Xue, came to deliver her order, scorned Ms Feng suddenly took the fruit knife and pointed it to her throat.

She then held the maid hostage inside her room.

Pictures from Chinese media show the SWAT officers stormed the hotel in order to rescue the hostage, who was successfully saved at 12:30pm.

The suspect was detained on site.

Authority confirmed the incident and said the hostage suffered no injuries.

It was unclear whether Ms Feng made any demands during the stand-off.

The case is still under further investigation.
