A man has died after a swarm of bees attacked workers on a construction site in Southern California, injuring two other workers.
The workers were working on leveling a car park for Wal-Mart in Riverside, that’s when they unknowingly struck an underground hive on Monday.
Witnesses had described seeing workers running away whilst other workers tried to swat the bees away.
Two men were seen rolling on the ground with their hands covering their faces as they were swarmed, another worker was swatting at them with a piece of their clothing.
“There were bees all over them, hundreds of them,” one witness said.
The attack ended when one of the workers grabbed a hose attached to a water tank and doused the swarm of bees in water.
The man who died has been identified as an electrician, he had a severe allergic reaction and was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
