Worker falls to death at Domino Sugar factory in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN – A construction worker fell to his death while working at the Domino Sugar factory in Brooklyn Friday, police confirmed.

On Friday, December 9, 2016 at approximately 0807 hours police responded to a 911 call of an aided male at 325 Kent Avenue.

Upon arrival, police discovered a 59-year-old male with trauma to the head.  EMS responded and transported the male to Woodhull Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.  The investigation is ongoing and the identity is pending proper family notification.

“He was really messed up. He had blood all over the side of his face,” said Juan Herrera, 24, a worker on the site.

“He was not tied in. He had a harness on, but was not tied in,” said Cristiam Benitez, 25.

The injured worked was transported to an area hospital where he has succumbed to his injuries.
