So many of us are guilty of wearing the same poorly fitting bra for years rather than investing in new bras. Since only you, and may your romantic partner, ever see your bras, it’s easy to save your money for a new outfit.

If you find that you are constantly adjusting your bra every day – it may be time to make a change. But quality bras can make all the difference. Check for these ten signs to see if it’s time to upgrade your bra.

⦁ Your Body’s Changed

As women, we go through so many physical, emotional, and hormonal changes. These changes are more obvious at certain times in a woman’s life, like during pregnancy and menopause, but even in a typical year, breast size and shape can change.

If you’ve noticed a change in your body, it may be time for some new bras. Make sure to measure yourself before you order online or hit the mall to make sure you find a perfect fit.

⦁ Your Bras Are Uncomfortable

Are you constantly adjusting your bra while running errands or getting through your workday? If your bra were comfortable, you would feel confident and supported.

In a well-fitting bra, you may forget you even have it on. If you can’t get through the hour without thinking about your bra it’s time to ditch it for something better.

⦁ You’re Bored By Your Underwear Drawer

Imagine you have a hot date tonight. Are excited to get ready when you open your underwear drawer? Or do you look through your intimates and feel bored?

You deserve to own bras, panties, and lingerie that empower you and make you feel sexy. If you don’t have anything bras that give you a boost of self-esteem, it’s time to go shopping.

⦁ Your Band is Stretched Out

The band of your bra will stretch out over time. Once your bra starts feeling loose on even the tightest eyelet hooks, it’s time to swap it out for a new one.

To help your band last longer before stretching, choose a bra that fits comfortably on the looser settings. This way, you can pull it tighter as the band begins to stretch out and lengthen its life.

⦁ Your Band is too Tight

Sometimes even on the looser settings, the band on your bra will still pull too tight across your back. When this happens, your bra will create an odd u-shape where the band pulls up towards your shoulders.

If you notice the band pulling, get out your measuring tape and consider going a size up.

⦁ Cups are Gaping or Pinching

Your breasts should fill the bra cups, and the seam should lie flat against your skin. Your bra may not be the best option for your breast shape if there is extra space in your cups. Switching to a demi bra could solve this problem.

You also don’t want to spill over the top of your bra. If you find that your cups are too small, try bras with more coverage, like t-shirt bras.

⦁ Nothing Looks Right Under Your Clothes

Your bras should help you feel confident in your clothes. A good bra will lift your chest, giving the support you need for t-shirts, dresses, and blazers to fall effortlessly on your body.

If whenever you get dressed, you find yourself frustrated by awkward lines from your bras, an upgrade could quickly solve all your problems.

⦁ Loose Straps

Nothing is more annoying than having your bra straps constantly slip off of your shoulders. It’s awkward to frequently have to pull them up in the middle of a meeting or on a date. It certainly doesn’t help you exude confidence.

Your bra straps should sit on your shoulders without tugging and stay in place all day long. Ditch the bras with loose flimsy straps.

⦁ Underwire is Poking Out

Has the underwire on your bra escaped from the seam to poke and prod you all day long? Ouch, your bras are not meant to be a torture device. Even if it was your favorite lacey bra – it’s time to let her go. Find something new that brings you the same amount of joy.

⦁ She Looks Sad

Yes, bras can look sad. The underwire support that holds everything in place should look like a smile. If the underwire has gotten bent out of shape and starts to look more like a frown, the bra probably isn’t doing much for you anymore.

Experts say you should replace your bra every six months or after about 180 wears. The more bras you have in your rotation, the longer they should last. Chances are you have at least one old bra sitting in your drawer, taking up space. Treat yourself to an upgrade. You deserve it.
