BLACK BROOK, N.Y. — On October 11, at around 11 a.m. State Police responded to a report of an assault on O’Hare Road in the town of Black Brook. Clinton County Sheriff deputies arrived on scene first and placed a subject in custody.
A victim was transported to the University of Vermont Healthcare Network at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh. The victim was pronounced deceased.
State Police have determined the investigation to be an apparent stabbing and homicide. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Michael Zindler of West Chazy.
A 14-year-old is currently in custody and is charged as a Youthful Offender with Murder 2nd degree. The youth will be arraigned in the Clinton County Youth Part Court. This case is being prosecuted by the Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie.
Police have not yet said how the teen suspect knew Zindler.
