16-Year-Old Charged with Threatening to Shoot, Bomb Kentucky School

Elkton, KY – Kentucky State Police Post 2 received a complaint on February 19, 2018 from Elkton Police Department in reference to threats being made against Todd County Central High School. Trooper Hunter Carroll responded, and preliminary investigation revealed a 16 year old male made threats to both shoot and bomb the high school.

Multiple juveniles were interviewed in regards to the threats being made. It was determined the 16 year-old male used social media to make threats toward another juvenile and toward Todd County Central High School.

Trooper Carroll made contact with the juvenile in Pembroke, KY and conducted an interview in the early morning hours of February 20, 2018. The male admitted to saying that he was going to shoot another male juvenile and went on to state that he did make threats to bomb Todd Central High School. The juvenile was questioned about the threats that were made and he stated that he was only joking.

While on scene, Trooper Carroll determined the 16 year-old to also be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The juvenile was taken into custody and lodged in the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd degree, Terroristic Threatening 3rd degree, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
