2 Arrested In New Jersey, One Charged With Having an IED

Don Lee Wheeler, 40, and Jemma Love, 30, both Berlin residents, were charged on April 6, 2019 after a narcotics search warrant was executed at their home.

On Friday the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Suburban Narcotics Task Force, Berlin Borough Police Department, and the Lower Camden County Regional Special Response Team executed a search warrant at the residence on Day Avenue in Berlin, NJ.

During a search of the residence, detectives located an Improvised Explosive Device (I.E.D), in a bedroom along with materials that would be used to make additional devices. The Camden County Sherriff’s Department’s Bomb Squad responded and removed the I.E.D. and materials. Area residents were evacuated for a period of time while the CCSD Bomb Squad removed the I.E.D. and materials. Officers seized crystal methamphetamine, heroin, five (5) rifles, four (4) handguns and US Currency from the residence.

Don Lee Wheeler was charged with Possession of an Improvised Explosive Device, according to the Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colallilo and Berlin Borough Police Chief Millard Wilkinson. Wheeler was also charged with two (2) counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS, three counts of Possession of a Weapon During a CDS Offense, three counts of Possession of a Handgun, one count of Maintaining a Fortified Premises, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of CDS.

Don Wheeler was arrested and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.

Jemma Love was charged with Possession of CDS and was released on a Summons.
