2 Charged With Attempted Murder After Detonating Pipe Bomb In California

SUISUN CITY, CA. — Following the pipe bomb detonation on February 17, 2018, the Suisun City Police Department worked in conjunction with the ATF and FBI on a joint-investigation.

Information was obtained that led to the execution of search warrants on February 19, 2018 at homes in Fairfield and Dixon and a business in Benicia. Additional pipe bombs were located during the search in Fairfield and were safely recovered by ATF Bomb Squad personnel.

As a result of information obtained in the investigation, Thomas Capenhurst, 33, Dixon, was arrested on probable cause for multiple felony charges including the use of a destructive device with the intent to commit murder. Robert McGraw, 20, Fairfield, was arrested on multiple felony charges including possession of a destructive device and use of a destructive device with the intent to commit murder.

As far as a connection between the suspects and the residents of the home, according to FOX40, Suisun City Police Chief Tim Mattos said ‘they are investigating any possible link. A relative of Capenhurst used to reside at that house.’
