2 Dead, 2 Teens Injured In Shooting Inside Pickup Truck on Interstate Near Downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE — Fingerprints of the two persons fatally shot early today inside a stolen pickup truck on I-24 east near downtown are being submitted to law enforcement databases as the effort continues to identify them.

The two persons wounded inside the truck, a 14-year-old female and a 16-year-old male, are being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The driver and the rear seat driver’s side passenger were killed. The 14-year-old was the front seat passenger. The 16-year-old was in the rear passenger side seat.

The investigation at present indicates that the shots were fired within the truck. A pistol was recovered from the vehicle. The shooting occurred shortly after 3 a.m. The pickup truck came to rest after colliding with the side of a tractor-trailer.

The 2014 Ford F-150 was stolen November 19th from outside a home on Cain Harbor Drive. The keys had been left inside it.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the chain of events surrounding the gunfire.
