MARION COUNTY, FL – Two people were killed after a plane crash Saturday night, the Marion County sheriff’s office said:
Deputies along with rescue personnel from Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a fatal plane crash that occurred in a heavily wooded area between Citra and Orange Springs late Saturday.
A small, private aircraft crashed killing both occupants. MCSO detectives are continuing their investigation along with the help of the MCSO Field Force. Due to the remote location of the crash site,
MCSO Field Force responded to help investigators gain access to the site. The FAA has been notified and is expected to respond to investigate the crash as well.
