2 Teens Used Facebook To Set Up An Armed Robbery

SEATTLE — Police arrested two teen robbers Monday afternoon after they stole two pairs of sneakers and a cell phone at gunpoint from another teenage boy they’d met on Facebook.

The victim had made arrangements on Facebook to meet the suspects at John C. Little Park in South Seattle and sell them two pairs of sneakers.

When the victim arrived at the park, the suspects pulled a gun and demanded the shoes and his phone, and fled the scene.

Police were able to obtain the name, phone number and address for one of the suspects–a 17-year-old boy–from the Facebook messages, and arrested him in front of his house a few block away. The sneakers and cell phone were recovered.

Detectives later found the other suspect–an 18-year-old male–in the 6900 block of 31st Avenue S.

Police booked the 17-year-old suspect was booked into the Youth Service Center and booked the 18-year-old into the King County Jail.
