Police in Calais have given Calais migrants who are protesting two days before they will bulldoze a third of their camp.

This comes after 1,500 migrants have refused to move into the new government-built facilities.

The ‘jungle’ migrants have rejected the new £20million camp, which has been custom designed to house 1,500 migrants.

French police today served the refugees with eviction orders.

The residents have refused to move after claiming they wish to stay in their tents.

The migrants reported to media earlier today:  ‘We, the united people of the Jungle, Calais, respectfully decline the demands of the French government with regards to reducing the size of the jungle.

‘We have decided to remain where we are and will peacefully resist the government’s plans to destroy our homes.

‘We plead with the French authorities and the international communities that you understand our situation and respect our fundamental human rights.’
